Safety Coordinator - Primary
Responsibilities
Report directly to the Director of H/S/E,
working closely with Superintendents & field personnel.
Manage and direct the safety program with all
corporate policies and standards that will help protect all of our employees
and clients.
Provide primary safety training leadership,
maintain the company focus that safety is a #1 priority for all and maintain
senior
management’s commitment that we will be a zero
accident company.
Responsibilities will include the following but
will not be limited to:
• Keep the Director of H/S/E informed on the
safety process for all projects underway.
• Manage the existing drug and alcohol testing
procedures in the region.
• Develop and maintain safety training for all
workers on jobsites.
• Review with the SVP operational safety and
capital budgets. Identify and apply for state and federal safety grants.
• Coordinate the exchange of information,
encourage decision making and accountability between all employees to deliver
a safe life for all employees.
• Set the standards of excellence for
our employees in matters of safety training and OSHA certification courses.
• Instruct and train field workers in the
recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions to eliminate hazards.
• Maintain records of all employee training that
is mandated by state & federal agencies.
• Perform
random internal safety audits and inspections on all projects.
Qualifications include: Degree in Safety Management, Industrial Safety or equivalent training or certified as a CSP. 10 years of progressive experience in the areas of field and office safety program management. Must be able to comprehend and execute state and federal safety laws and regulations. Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite.
